We are seeking qualified, experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated GPs to join our established team in the Urgent Treatment Centre.
The Urgent Treatment Centre provides urgent medical treatment for acute illnesses and offers the chance to work directly with colleagues in Emergency Medicine to enhance clinical skills. The GP role will be central to service provision, supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering prompt, safe, and timely interventions.
The Centre operates from 0800 to 0000, seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays, with various shifts available.
We are looking for cover during 0900-1400 and 1800-0000 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The post holder will provide professional leadership, clinical expertise, and manage same-day patient presentations at ESNEFT’s Urgent and Emergency Care Centre in Ipswich. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with primary and secondary care colleagues and other agencies to ensure a smooth patient journey.
You will also act as a role model, promoting clinical effectiveness and delivering outstanding clinical practice.

Responsibilities include providing clinical care to UTC patients, including consultations, referrals, and directing patients to self-care or community pharmacy when appropriate. You will work closely with the wider team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, maintain ongoing professional development, and ensure appropriate prescribing practices. You will also promote health and preventative care, engage in revalidation and appraisal, and provide performance data. Additionally, you will assist the Front Door Assessment Team (FDAT) to ensure patients are seen in the most appropriate setting.
