Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
The opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join the Construction Delivery Team and be accountable for the daily operations of transport and logistics for the project.
Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney (CBD), with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO / FIFO (10 / 4) or relocation where additional allowances will apply._Key AccountabilitiesOversee and manage the daily operations of site logisticsDevelop and implement transport strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costDevelop and coordinate comprehensive logistic plans, ensuring alignment with objectives, while monitoring and reporting on progressDevelop detailed scopes of work to be issued to suppliers whilst following the CIMIC Procurement ProcessesManage multiple laydowns to support efficient receiving, unloading, storage, quality control, loading and delivery of construction materialsCoordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure availability of resources, equipment, and materials needed for project executionFacilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to engage stakeholders and gather feedback on project strategyEnsure compliance to HVNL, standards and regulations and implement systems and processes to supportImplement and maintain inventory control proceduresAllocate resources effectively to support project activities and meet project requirementManage the shortand long-term construction planning for the associated worksDevelop / monitor KPI's against program and budgetManage subcontractors, suppliers, and key project personnel and ensure buy in to safety and quality strategiesMaintain positive relationships with key stakeholders across the project teamParticipate in cost reporting processesContributing to CPB and Project Safety culture and support the project safety teamDevelop and maintain quality controlsEnsure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processesAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will require :
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Transport and logistics Management role ideally in a contracting environmentExperience in construction environmentIn depth understanding of NHVL, COR and NHVR accreditation schemesDirect experience in construction Logistics (fuel / bulk water / concrete / steel / construction materials etc)Heavy haulage experience an advantagePort handling experience an advantageAbility to write detailed technical scope(s) of work for large packagesSubcontractor managementEffective communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Intermediate computer skillsWhere applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
