Your Role Key responsibilities include : Participating in a comprehensive twelve-month graduate registered nurse or midwife program. Rotating through two six-month placements in high acuity clinical areas such as cardio thoracics, neurosurgery, major plastic and reconstructive surgery, orthopaedics, haematology / oncology, and colorectal surgery. Gaining experience in specialty areas including intensive care, recovery, peri-operative, and cardiac / vascular catheter laboratory. Working collaboratively with experienced clinical professionals and educators to ensure patient safety, well-being, and recovery. Complying with all organisational policies, including those related to immunisation and health screening. Undergoing criminal record and / or child protection checks as part of the selection criteria. About You Applicants must meet the following requirements : Completion of a Bachelor of Nursing Program or equivalent, eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA. Availability to commence the program in February 2026. Submission of a cover letter, succinct CV (no more than three pages) with two clinical referees from 2nd or 3rd year placements (one from an adult acute care placement of two weeks or longer). Certified copy of academic transcript (including legend). Two certified acute medical or surgical ward clinical assessment tools (minimum two weeks, from second or third year placements in Australia or New Zealand; PACU clinical tool accepted). Full clinical assessment documents required; mental health or community nursing placements not accepted. International candidates must include a photocopy of their passport. Willingness to undergo criminal record and / or child protection checks. Compliance with SVHA Staff Health Screening Immunisation Policy, including mandatory immunisations / vaccinations (such as flu and COVID-19 vaccinations).
