Job description
  • About the Role - It is a Melbourne based assignment that will allow suitable resources to work remotely from Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
  • As a Senior Data Analyst, you will bring extensive expertise on data handling and curation capabilities to the team. You'll be responsible for designing and building intelligent domains using market leading tools.

    • Key responsibilities
    • Actively engage in the whole lifecycle (inception, design, development, testing, deployment, operation, monitoring and refinement) of data services.
    • Monitor, measure and maintain availability and health of our data assets and associated platforms, working closely with our technology partners.
    • Advocate for changes that improve overall platform health and performance.
    • Continual oversight of end-to-end data lifecycle, identifying opportunities to automate, build and maintain our data pipelines and data assets.
    • Key Skills and Competencies you will bring with you
    • Strong Data analytical skills - Mandatory
    • Understand the different data sources within the project, able to extract & analyse the data (e.g. coverage / gaps),
    • Understand reporting requirements, build SQL's that replicate reporting rules to validate / confirm data requirements,
    • Understand and map project source data to enable business calculations and reporting requirements (to confirm correctness / coverage of data)
    • Working with Business team and BAs to confirm / update business and technical reporting requirements
    • Provision data that supports the reports such that the developers have a set of data that include input and expected results
    • Support the development team in understanding the data and business rules
    • Experience in Oracle / Postgres DB and SQL - Mandatory for one or more of the DBs
    • Banking and Finance Regulatory reporting & MI Reporting - Preferred
    • Understanding / experience with APRA / RBNZ CRE & LLfP reporting
    • Ability to understand what MI reporting can be expected; e.g. cubes and drill down reporting
    • Experience required
    • 5+ years of Business or equivalent industry experience within the Data Engineering field is required
    • Experience working within the Retail Banking industry will be an advantage
    • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and / or Bachelor's degree in information systems, or related field preferred
    • To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
