Are you an experienced People and Culture leader who wants to make a real difference? At CREATE Foundation, we’re looking for someone with purpose, heart and strategic HR capability to shape the future of our workforce.

In this critical leadership role, you’ll partner with our Executive Team to roll out CREATE’s Workforce Strategy, support people managers across the organisation, and foster an empowering, inclusive culture where our people thrive. From onboarding to exit, performance to wellbeing, and compliance to innovation—you’ll be the driving force behind a great employee experience.

In this role, you will :

  • Lead the implementation of CREATE’s national Workforce Strategy
  • Provide strategic and practical HR advice to leaders across Australia
  • Champion our culture and values through strong systems, processes and policy
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention and performance initiatives
  • Support complex HR matters, incident response and wellbeing systems
  • Coach people managers to lead with care and clarity
  • Develop an HR technology roadmap that enables efficiency and scale
  • Ensure legal, industrial and SCHADS Award compliance
  • Monitor HR data and share insights with the Executive Team and Board

About you

You’re a seasoned HR leader who builds trust, delivers results, and thrives in a people-first, values-led environment. You’re systems-savvy, solutions-focused and ready to shape how CREATE attracts, develops and retains great people. You love coaching others to grow, you’re confident navigating complexity, and you’re excited by the opportunity to shape Workforce Strategy in an organisation with real purpose.

You bring :

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, or at least five years of senior-level HR experience—ideally within the non-profit sector.
  • A strong understanding of employment legislation and the SCHADS Award, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to leaders.
  • Experience delivering strategic workforce initiatives that support high performance, wellbeing, and cultural alignment.
  • Confidence managing complex HR issues, including performance, industrial relations, incident reporting, and workers compensation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, influence and build trust across all levels.
  • High-level project management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and drive results.
  • A proactive approach to building and improving systems, including experience working with HR Information Systems.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and cultural safety, including working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Alignment with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and CREATE’s mission to elevate the voices of children and young people.
