This leading manufacturer is on an impressive growth trajectory and are looking to appoint a Supply Chain Optimisation Manager to develop and implement profit improvement initiatives to improve supply chain activities and achieve cost optimisation for the business.

Reporting to the Director, this role will be based in the Head Office and will lead projects to drive strategic thinking with a focus on commercial outcomes and best practice. This is an excellent opportunity with visibility into the senior leadership team.

  • The Role
  • Develop and lead profit improvement projects within the supply chain to ensure a cost-effective process and promote continuous improvement across the end-to-end supply chain.

  • Work cross functional with senior management and the leadership group to develop strategic plans with the aim to improve performance across the business. This may include process / systems development, operational integrations and footprint development, new capital upgrades and expansions, and development of the supply chain to support new sales channels, as an example.
  • Develop and validate the business strategy case in conjunction with the leadership group, functional and divisional heads. Develop detailed execution plans for all strategic projects including timelines and budgets.
  • Analyse complex data to generate financial models and speculative forecasts. Present in-depth analysis to the leadership team with insights and recommendations on improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior management on mergers and acquisition, including being involved in due diligence activities of potential acquisitions and / or lead integration activities post acquisition.
  • Set up benchmarking KPI's for the supply chain function and ensure adherence to timelines with the team.
  • Develop high quality reporting and analysis to be distributed and presented regularly to the supply chain team and leadership teams.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business providing data driven insights to influence commercial outcomes.
  • The Person
  • Tertiary qualified in an engineering or technical discipline and ideally having a post grad qualification (ie MBA or Masters)
  • Significant project management experience
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience working in supply chain roles within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment considered advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel & financial modelling skills.
  • Commercially astute, they must be able to understand financial reports, manage a budget and make commercial decisions. Strong analytical ability.
  • Able to challenge status quo and challenge thinking of others.
  • Ideally have experience in due diligence, but not essential.
  • Collaborative in their style, inclusive in making decisions.
  • Must be able to work through ambiguity.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior executive level employees as well as line management and operators.
  • Strong presence and professional in their presentation. Able to gain attention quickly and be recognised as a strong leader in the business.
  • Superb communication and consultation skills with the ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of attention to detail; thrives on managing multiple priorities - taking a hands-on approach and getting into the detail when required.
  • They must be high potential and see this as a stepping-stone to other opportunities internally.
