We’re looking for a Public Relations & Communications Lead to take the reins of our public voice—amplifying our advocacy, engaging the media, and driving bold, meaningful communications that influence systems and change lives.

About the role :

The Public Relations and Communications Lead will be responsible for shaping and delivering strategic communications and media agenda that elevates the foundations voice, builds public and stakeholder awareness, and drives dramatic advocacy impact. You will lead media relations, tactfully manage issues management and brand messaging across platforms—crafting compelling narratives, managing high-profile communications activities, and building strong relationships with media, ambassadors, and partners. Working closely with internal teams, this role ensures all public-facing content is clear, consistent, values-driven, and aligned with broader foundation goals.

In order for you to succeed, you will need (Key Selection Criteria) :

  • 6+ years in public relations, communications, or media strategy, with proven experience leading high-impact campaigns and building media relationships.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—you can craft a message that moves people and pitch a story that gets picked up.
  • A strong understanding of media and political environments, ideally in advocacy, not-for-profit, or social justice settings.
  • Confidence in reputation management and the ability to guide leaders through media moments, tough questions, and public scrutiny.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and align messaging across teams and platforms.
  • Collaborative, creative, and calm under pressure—with a passion for meaningful work.
  • Bonus if also have :

  • Experience in public health, social justice, childhood development, or advocacy-driven work.
  • Experience working with ambassadors, spokespeople, or high-profile partners.
  • Confidence with media monitoring tools, CRMs, and communications reporting.
