Job description :
- Manage and oversee aspects of the financial operations of the organisation such as budgeting and financial reporting.
- Prepare asset, liability, and general ledger entries by compiling and analysing account information. Regularly ensure the reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare business activity statements (BAS), balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and month-end / year-end accounts and assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts for the business.
- Compute taxes and complete tax returns.
- Answer customer enquiries (B2C level) from FBT exempt, FBT relatable and full FBT organisations, explain FBT implications of each fringe benefit type and provide end-to-end salary packaging solutions.
- Handle client enquiries at the B2B level, covering topics such as the interplay between FBT, GST, payroll tax, work cover, and other payroll-related matters.
- Recommend financial actions to clients by analysing accounting options.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to formulate budgetary and accounting policies and systems and advise on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems.
- Examine operating costs and the organisation's income and expenditure and maintain internal control systems.
- Report on the company's financial health and liquidity, recommending financial actions by analysing accounting options.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.
- Provide assurance in relation to compliance with accounting standards and other financial statutory requirements.
- Comply with taxation requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Ensure accuracy of information presented in financial documentation and confirming adherence to accounting standards, financial requirements and taxation requirements.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of risk management over currency hedging.
Qualifications / Attributes :
Must hold a minimum relevant bachelor's degree or higher qualification.Must have at least 3 years of experience.Ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingProficient in tax computation and complianceAbility to pay close attention to detailAbility to communicate clearly and professionallyAbility to manage time effectivelySalary Range : $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
