Workforce Strategy and Planning Officer (APS6 Equivalent)

Location : Any Australian capital city

Travel : Occasional travel required for team planning (up to 2–3 days to a central location)

Contract Length : 12 month assignment

Rate : Based on candidate expectations

Security Clearance : Must have the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance

Must be an Australian Citizen

Role Overview

As a Workforce Strategy and Planning Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the Strategic Workforce Plan, designing forward-thinking workforce strategies, and working collaboratively with HR Business Partners to provide insights and solutions to executive stakeholders. Using data-driven approaches and agile methodologies, you will help close workforce gaps and support long-term organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a Strategic Workforce Plan with effective reporting mechanisms.Research and design innovative workforce strategies to address emerging needs.Collaborate with HR Business Partners to deliver actionable solutions to executive stakeholders.Use workforce planning tools and analytics to generate accurate forecasts and models.Monitor and evaluate workforce initiatives to ensure performance and reduce gaps.Promote knowledge sharing and best practices in workforce planning.Draft professional communications including briefs, talking points, and minutes.Support team operations using agile methodologies and sound project governance.

Required Skills and Experience

Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, HR, or a related field.Strong analytical skills with experience in data-based forecasting and modeling.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management practices.Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including HR and executives.Proactive and solutions-focused mindset, committed to continuous improvement.
