We are currently seeking qualified Therapy Assistants to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs for our residents at Bethanie Elanora Aged Care Home located in Bunbury. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Elanora is an 81 bed offering comfortable living as well as some of the best aged care facilities in the area.

We are looking for someone with a passion for working with people of all abilities and backgrounds. Our Therapy Assistants have an enthusiastic and creative approach to their work and are able to support and cultivate our residents’ strengths and interests.

We have vacancies for Therapy Assistants in both permanent part time and casual capacities, with the following shifts available :

  • 9am - 2.30pm (Tuesday to Friday)
  • 9am - 4pm (Monday to Friday)
  • 10am - 3.30pm (Monday to Sunday)

An important component of this role is the ability to work autonomously and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions independently. You will be able to work under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, while also being confident in using your initiative and creative thinking to ensure sessions run smoothly.

About You

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other health care environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with residents with advanced dementia would be an advantage
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team members
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one)
  • The Role

  • Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for individual residents and groups
  • Adapt activities to resident’s level of function under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  • Address a variety physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents
  • Maintain accurate documentation, both paper and computer based
