Consultant - Emergency Department

Job Description

7 day, 38 hour (4 shifts) per week roster (full-time hours) made up of day and late shifts with the capacity to make roster requests to accommodate all that South Australia has to offer. Consultants are rostered from the morning through to midnight and senior ED registrars / medical practitioners overnight with consultants on call.

Seeking an Specialist FACEM who enjoys working in a vibrant team culture and can operate with a high level of professionalism, on offer is a highly rewarding role within this Service. As a senior member of the ED team, you will be responsible for patients and provide input into the management of patients in the High Dependency Unit and in emergency situations when on duty. A strong relationship builder with a demonstrated commitment to education and training of junior colleagues, you will be an effective role model for all other staff and participate in teaching and training activities of junior doctors. You will be actively engaged in continuing education activities in addition to Continuous Quality Improvement activities, including audit and morbidity and mortality review.

With Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Emergency Medicine or equivalent, you will hold appropriate Specialist Qualifications and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
