We have a strong and proud history of delivering diverse projects on time and on budget and we embrace and execute our mission statement; 'To deliver safe, sustainable, high-quality projects and services which uphold our core values and the 'Austral Construction' legacy.Austral Construction is owned by global geotechnical engineering company, Keller Group plc.We are looking for an experienced Quality Lead with a civil construction backgroundto take responsibility for ensuring that all project activities within Austral Construction are carried out in accordance with contractual specifications, regulatory requirements, and the company's quality management system (QMS).Main duties will include (but are not limited to) : Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs).Conduct inspections and tests at various stages of the construction process (materials, in-process, final).Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality documentation (e.g., ITPs, NCRs, RFI logs).Identify non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions.Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies for quality audits and inspections.Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and tools.Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards related to quality.Provide training and support to site teams on quality requirements and standards.Conduct quality inspections and testing of materials, equipment, and workmanship.

Identify defects and recommend corrective actions.Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and contractual obligations.Maintain detailed quality records, prepare reports, and track project quality metrics.Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and site personnel to ensure quality assurance practices are upheld.Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize defects.Support teams with training on quality standards and best practices.Position requirements : Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a QA / QC role within the construction or related industry.Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and applicable codes and standards and quality assurance procedures.Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Certification in quality management systems (e.g., CQE, ISO auditor) is a plus.Detail-oriented and systematic approach to work.Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.Willingness to travel or be based at project sites as and when required.Familiarity with Australian standards (or relevant local standards).What's on offer : Competitive remuneration package,Opportunities for growth and progression,Continuous work,Long term prospects.Successful candidates will be required to pass a full medical, online tests and inductions.If this position sounds like the challenging & rewarding role that you have been seeking, please apply and attach a current CV detailing your suitability for the role.All applicants will be reviewed for shortlisting.

Since that initial contract, Austral has completed over 35 contracts and $150m worth of work for Rio Tinto's Project Engineering Group and the Company has developed its ability to work effectively in remote locations with excellent logistical support.
