Planning and Environment Advisor

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Planning and Environment Advisor to join us in our Energy Solutions team in Perth, WA on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Planning & Environment Manager, you will provide support to gain environmental approvals for the development of large-scale renewable energy and power transmission projects in the Pilbara. This role understands interaction between the technical requirements and design elements of project infrastructure and the statutory and stakeholder requirements for a project.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the business to secure all environmental approvals required for new projects, along with supporting the business development team during ideation, pre-feasibility and feasibility phases for prospective development projects . Support the construction team to ensure all approval obligations are complied with during construction.
• Assess strategies and feasibility for approvals options required for development projects, whilst understanding the tenure, heritage and statutory approval requirements for new projects across the Pilbara
• Contribute to the development and design of innovative land access and impact mitigation strategies to provide a competitive advantage in winning new projects
• Provide support for project development through engaging with external stakeholders, regulators and community and industry representative bodies
• Support scheduling, and manage aspects of the statutory approvals workstream for key projects, co ordinating specialist consultants and site surveys / investigations as necessary
• Understand and respect indigenous cultural heritage and how this may apply to site studies / investigations and certain approval requirements
