Join our team as a Disability Support Worker!

We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers in the Singleton LGA. Here at IDS, we celebrate the uniqueness and abilities of every individual. We offer a wide range of support services, including social and community access, assistance with daily living, transport, short term accommodation, supported independent living and personal and self-care.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) :

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including personal care, household tasks, and community outings.
  • Assist individuals in developing and achieving their goals, promoting independence and self-determination.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support provided and any changes in the individual's needs or preferences.

Qualifications :

  • Driver's licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured car
  • Current first aid and CPR
  • Police check
  • Working with children check
  • Cert III in Disability or working towards
  • Full availability with the potential to work weekends and overnight shifts.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
  • Compassion and an empathetic attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development.
  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field is desirable but not essential.

    • Pay : $33.00 - $66.00 per hour

    Expected hours : No less than 10 per week

  • Weekend availability

  • First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Working with Children Check (preferred)
  • National Police Certificate (preferred)
