With 70 inpatient Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation beds, a rehabilitation gym and 3 operating theatres located on the idyllic Redcliffe Peninsula our facility averages 760 admissions per month. Specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and internal medicine and the delivery of leading rehabilitation services and programs on the Brisbane Northside.

As an Occupational Therapist your responsibilities will include :

• You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients / families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the coordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the allied health team, therapy assistants, nursing and non-clinical staff providing direct and indirect clinical input, direction and guidance
• Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carer / family for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation and discharge plans
• Commit to an ongoing learning and professional development portfolio to ensure case mix requirements are supported and registration requirements are met
• This casual role will be primarily based working within our Day Rehab unit. There may be opportunity to support an inpatient Rehabilitation caseload at times

Essential Criteria :

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Current drivers licence
• Highly developed skills, knowledge and clinical reasoning in occupational therapy with experience and demonstrated competency in (including FIM accreditation), geriatrics, general medical, post general surgical and neurological
• Excellent time management, communication and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
