  • Primary Purpose

    The primary purpose of this role is to manage all building repairs on site to ensure a satisfactory outcome for our client, while maintaining the highest safety, quality and environmental standards in accordance with company management systems, policies and procedures at all times.

    Project Management

    • Manage all aspects of repairs on site from site establishment to handover including document management, supplier procurement, scheduling and coordinating works, client / customer correspondence, job file management and quality and safety compliance.
    • Develop and communicate programs of works to all relevant stakeholders using purpose built software.
    • Procure and coordinate all suppliers on site to ensure adherence with approved schedules and plans.
    • Review, action and approve project related documentation and on-going works alike.
    • Produce progress reports and cost reports for management as required and maintain job file records.
    • Maintain the highest safety, quality and environmental standards, in accordance with company management systems, policies and procedures, at all times.
    • Assist customer service staff with client related queries, and be the main site contact on each allocated project.
    • Take possession of the after-hours phone on rostered days to arrange and coordinate emergency works for customers as required.
    • Manage project budgets, as well as all supplier order / invoice reconciliation and approval.
    • Associated administration as required.
    • Adhere to strict KPI’s.
    • Safety Management

    • Ensure all trades are inducted on the company systems prior to issuing work orders.
    • Carry out induction spot checks with on-site workers regularly.
    • Carry out site audits and toolbox talks on active jobs daily.
    • Compile Site Safety Management Plans on larger, more complex projects in accordance with BBS policy and procedure.
    • Ensure appropriate safety equipment is available on site as required.
    • Stakeholder Relationships

    • Keep customers informed regularly and respond to customer queries with diligence and professionalism.
    • Keep our clients up to date at all times with regards to repair progress and respond to queries with diligence and professionalism.
    • Liaise with suppliers daily, responding to trade enquiries and keeping repairs on track through effective planning and communication.
    • Ensure consistent, informative and relevant communication with all stakeholders.
    • Work with clients, customers and suppliers to develop and maintain harmonious professional relationships for the benefit of all stakeholders.
    • Connect with new suppliers to continually grow our supplier network.
    • Promote company values, policies and procedures.
    • Industry Knowledge

    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; benchmarking professional standards; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
    • Share industry knowledge that assists in the training and development of less experienced employees (some interstate travel may be required.)
    • Typical Qualifications and Experience

    • A building related trade background or tertiary qualification in building and construction (or related discipline) is essential.
    • Experience in a similar role is essential.
    • Strong understanding of domestic insurance industry and procedures is an advantage.
    • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office suite essential with additional experience in a workflow system an advantage.
    • Willingness to adapt and be flexible.
    • Ability to lead, plan and manage change.
    • Passion, or the willingness to become immersed in work.
    • Initiative and strong organizational skills.
    • Strong time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict KPI’s.
    • Strong negotiation skills with excellent decision making skills.
    • A customer focused approach to work.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to learn new I.T. systems quickly.
