Production Managerto join our team in Perth (Malaga).Your main responsibilities will includeParticipate in early review of drawings and scope of work for selected tenders to assess opportunities for alternatives or other innovative concepts.Consider all forms of project delivery and focus on a teamwork approach with clients during negotiation of tender awardOversee and lead all aspects of the production process and demonstrate hands on management in manufacturing environment.Manage and monitor direct and indirect production staff to ensure production is carried out in a manner consistent with safety, environmental, quality and other work instructions / SOP as defined by the Company.Arrange factory pre-start meetings with production staff to identify priorities and address team issues on a regular basis.Proactive support and participation in continuous improvement activities, especially those that yield production efficiency.Build a quality culture that proactively identifies quality risks and issues, putting in place actions to resolve themMaintain a training / skills matrix for all production staff.Manage production staff according to company standards, with regards to appraisals, performance, training, development etc.Ensure systems are in place and followed to deal with personnel issues, disciplinary processes, and accountabilities and to ensure production continuity.Ensure all new employees are inducted and trained correctly in conjunction with Production Supervisors according to company / HSE guidelines.Accountable for the overall production output of the production teams.Developing a culture of high performance, quality and continuous improvement, including improving and optimising internal processes.Lead and motivate the team to ensure we have a highly engaged, high performing team working to agreed targets.Recognising good individual and team performance. Dealing firmly and fairly with poor performance.Actively encouraging and supporting ideas to improve safety, quality performance.Help build a strong culture of continuous improvement.Ensuring the production area is safe and clean at all times through production staffHelp to drive LEAN improvements and efficiencies in the production.Skills & ExperienceBachelor of Engineering or similar Degree qualifications e.g. Project Management or Commercial would be preferable.Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mining and or engineering industry.Minimum five (5) years acting in a Management capacity with experience across a broad spectrum of mining, electrical, engineering disciplines with proven production, commercial and contractual management skills.Proven track record of project management, strong client relationships through excellence in quality service delivery and financial management.Proven track record of improved client relationships through successful project delivery.Achievement of project tendered margins and corporate budget objectives.Achievement of improved safety performance and industrial relations management.What UON can offer you;A corporate Health Cover Plan exclusive to UON employeesFlexible working arrangements (Work / Life balance)Training and Development programs (apprenticeship, traineeship, internal training)Career development opportunities working with some of the best in the industryA fun, active social clubOnly those with the unrestricted right to work in Australia will be considered.
