The Important Stuff : Full-Time Permanent : 76 hours per fortnight, work on an on-call roster outside of normal working hours and in emergency situations Salary : Base salary range from $56,688 to $61,790 per annum, plus allowances, penalty rates for overtime and rostered days off, and superannuation

The Perks : 9-day fortnight! 15 days' sick leave per year Long Service Leave after 5 years 4 weeks' annual leave per year, with the option to purchase extra Ongoing learning and development opportunities Salary packaging options Employee Assistance Program Vaccination program Active social club What We Are Looking For : A motivated go-getter : You may not have experience in this type of role, but you are enthusiastic and willing to learn A team player : you have a proven ability to work well in a team while also producing reliable, high-quality results A great communicator : you have well-developed communication skills to work with your team and others A problem-solver : you can solve problems by applying processes and standards, and considering alternatives A safety star : safety is a fundamental part of the way you work You will : Operate a range of plant to prepare the surface of the road to provide an appropriate surface for bitumen sealing and safe use by traffic Maintain, clean, and refuel the roller and other plant to ensure it is operating in a safe and efficient manner Carry out pre-start checks on all plant and equipment used to ensure safe operation and diagnose mechanical problems to minimise downtime Install and maintain signs and guideposts to ensure traffic safety, in accordance with RMS standards Load trucks in a safe manner using a front-end loader to ensure appropriate weight distribution Erect fences, barricades, and safety signs to protect the public whilst work is performed Fill potholes to in the road ensure vehicle safety Carry out other duties that are within the limits of the employee skills, competence and ability as required View the position description here What We Would Like You to Have : Don't have all of these? Prior experience would be preferred, but if you have your drivers' licence and are a proactive thinker with well-developed interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, and a can-do attitude, we are interested to hear from you! General induction for Construction certificate (Whitecard) Working experience in road construction and maintenance activities combined with the ability to use laser levelling techniques Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and communicate within small teams Working understanding of the mechanical operation of the grader, combined with the ability to work to final trim preparation Awareness of workplace safety Understanding of traffic control and public safety procedures Class C Drivers Licence What's Nice to Have : Grader Operation competency Qualifications in Traffic Control Special Conditions : Only those with current rights to work in Australia may apply.
