Job description

Exciting new opportunity for an experienced Trade Assistant to work at one of Sydney’s largest and most well-known wholesale markets—a hub of activity that supplies fresh produce across the region.

As a Trades Assistant, you will support the Site Maintenance Supervisor and broader Site Services team in performing general maintenance and repair duties. This hands-on role plays a key part in upholding a clean, safe, and operational environment.

  • Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM

What's your Day-to-Day looking like :

  • Assisting with Line Marking and Traffic Control
  • General Site Maintenance : Conduct routine cleaning and minor maintenance of electrical switch rooms and plant areas (e.g., air conditioning and refrigeration rooms)
  • Public Amenities Maintenance : Maintain and inspect public amenities (e.g., replacing fixtures, locks)
  • Carry out meter readings and equipment inspections
  • Support with general duties : deliveries, pothole repairs, maintenance tasks
  • Act as backup during supervisor absence
  • Occasionally conduct sewer and water meter readings (with photo documentation)
  • Operate forklifts to move or unload materials

    Who are we looking for :

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised
  • Valid driver’s licence (mandatory)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word / Excel)
  • Willingness to learn Salesforce (training provided)
  • Willingness to undertake internal and external training
  • White Card (OH&S General Induction Training Certificate)

    • Preferred :

  • Forklift licence
  • First Aid and Manual Handling certification
