Finance Officer

• Review and endorse accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel claims and corporate card transactions, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with relevant delegations, policies and procedures
• Assist with the monthly and financial year end accounting processes, ensuring the integrity of data within the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers by preparing journals, reconciliations and running reports
• Perform the daily reconciliation of bank accounts while resolving any discrepancies and assist with cash management and investment arrangements
• Provide advice to both internal and external stakeholders in relation to financial accounting policies, procedures and issues
• Assist with the preparation of the Fringe Benefit tax return, Annual Leave Central Scheme (ALCS) and long-service leave submissions, Payroll tax return and Business Activity Statement
• Assist in the preparation of asset reconciliations, useful life reviews and the annual stocktake
• Provide training to staff in financial administration and in the use of financial systems
• Assist with addressing the agency's training needs in financial accounting and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and training programs to meet these needs
• Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and support financial accounting within the agency
• Contribute to a change management and performance development culture across the unit by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your supervisor and team members
