      MMS Learning is currently looking for a disability support worker and administrator. Your role would be a mixture of hands-on support work and administrative duties which you have the flexibility to complete from home. Once employed, you will :

    • Work with a range of people in their own home environments and the local community.
    • Proactively support people's independence and social connections whilst promoting positive health and well-being.
    • Be involved in a 'hands-on' job, where manual handling tasks may be required.
    • Listen and talk with clients and have fun.
    • Have the flexibility to customise your working week to suit your commitments.
    • Mentor our clients and assist them with budgeting, finding employment and developing social skills.

    • Flexibility with your availability is crucial for this role to be successful so we can provide the proper support at the right time to our clients.

    • First Aid Certificate
    • Relevant experience in the Aged Care and / or Disability Industry.
    • Knowledge of NDIS, disability, and the roles of a support worker.
    • Driver's licence and vehicle.
    • Working rights in Australia.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50km from Perth CBD (paid)
    • It is also desired for you to possess the following skills
    • Customer service :

    • Provide high quality customer service to participants.
    • Actively listen to and respond appropriately to participant feedback.
    • Be patient and understanding to participants needs.
    • Be calm and kind in interactions with participants.
    • Work with external organisations.

    • Formal and informal support builds high-quality relationships with external service providers and customers.
    • Administration :

    • Display a high degree of computer literacy.
    • Able to competently use mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.)
    • Communication :

    • Be able to verbally communicate concepts and ideas in a way that customers and team members can easily comprehend.
    • Utilise active listening skills in interactions with participants and team members.
    • Be able to communicate personal views constructively.
    • Be able to communicate in a clear, open and honest manner.
    • Organisational skills :

    • Manage time effectively.
    • Arrange and utilises resources in an efficient and environmentally conscious way.
    • Regularly reviews and assesses personal progress.
    • Knowledge :

    • Some understanding of the NDIS.
    • Good understanding of issues around disability and mental health.
    • Good understanding of disability support services within NDIS Plans.
    • Good understanding of the community sector and Not for Profit organisations.
    • Good understanding of relevant privacy and confidentiality concerning participants.
    • Good understanding of what is considered appropriate self-disclosure
