  • The Role
  • Looking for new challenges, you will be ready to take the plunge into a professional legal firm with a strong interest and a future within commercial litigation and recoveries.

    Working in a close-knit team you will assist the group with highly skilled administrative activities and provide support to a small team in tasks associated with a volume claims practice, litigation support and legal research.

    You could be either a law student with an exposure to legal debt recovery but as yet, no legal training or maybe you have been legal secretary / receptionist who understand legal documents and the language and systems around legal action.

    You will have an eye for detail, be enthusiastic and pragmatic in your approach with outstanding communication skills, enjoy an open, dynamic culture and be rewarded with direct mentorship in a collaborative work style.

  • Responsibilities
  • Preparation of routine court documents such as Statement of Claims, Applications for Judgment, and other associated documentation.
  • Preparation of Letters of Demand.
  • Preparation of documentation for enforcement in Magistrates Court proceedings.
  • Liaising with Sheriff's Office and Local and Magistrates Courts.
  • General file maintenance including opening, printing, photocopying, scanning, saving correspondence electronically, hard copy filing and closing files.
  • Online and in-court filing and conducting legal searches.
  • Drafting, amending, and formatting of correspondence and court documents.
  • Liaison and negotiation with customers to enter payment arrangements.
  • Telephone based liaison with clients and customers to keep informed of each stage in the recovery process.
  • Other ad hoc duties and tasks as directed.
  • Experience
  • Higher School Certificate.
  • Currently studying law or experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient at legal research and using research databases and other resources.
  • Basic understanding of the terminology and relevant legislation in the areas of insurance, insolvency, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and balance own time to meet and exceed business needs.
  • Personable, professional, and approachable with exceptional customer service skills and an ability to multitask and adapt to changes daily.
  • Attention to detail, attention to detail, attention to detail.
  • Competent at using a variety of technology and software programs. Prior experience with DebtCol and / or legal specific software is desirable, not essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
