- The role
- This is a part time (0.8) role._ This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of the OES payroll. They will be responsible for the following tasks :
- Assist the Payroll Manager with the fortnightly processing for permanent office-based (approximately 600) and fixed term variable remote-based (approximately 900) employees
- Fortnightly superannuation payments for all OES employees
- Preparation of the payroll for all new starters, terminations and master-file changes on a fortnightly basis
- Maintenance of pay records, leave records, payroll files / details and related information within the HRIS and payroll systems
- Ensure all new employees are set up on the payroll and have completed all relevant documentation
- Monthly payroll tax and PAYG withholding calculation and remittance
- Answer payroll related queries from employees
- Management reporting, such as leave reports and general ad hoc reports
- Ensure month end procedures are completed as directed by the Financial Controller
- Ensure reconciliations and regulatory lodgements are completed on a timely basis, including superannuation reconciliations, and payroll tax on a state-by-state basis where applicable
- Review existing payroll processes and become involved in process improvements related to payroll as required
- Essential skills
- Demonstrated practical experience in complete end to end payroll processing, preferably in an autonomous environment
- Experience with a major payroll processing system
- Experience with dealing with complex payroll, i.e. casual and permanent workforces with multiple award interpretations is highly desired
- Demonstrated experience to provide payroll related advice across a broad range of matters
- A professional approach to dealing with issues of a confidential nature
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Strong alignment with the values of the company
- An understanding of payroll, superannuation and tax legislation, plus interpretation of Awards.
- A tertiary qualification or substantial progress towards the completion of a tertiary qualification would be highly regarded
