The Inventory Support Officer (ISO) undertakes Requirement Determination and procurement activities in support of unique inventory. Reporting directly to either the Stock Item Owner Coordinator or the Repairable Items / Disposals Coordinator, the ISO role includes assisting with the management, procurement and repair of assigned inventory items ensuring relevant purchasing, procurement and Asset Management policies are adhered to.
The DutiesDetermine straightforward to moderately complex buy and repair requirements that are accurate and prioritised using all inputs within allocated budget to meet agreed service levels under routine direction.Conduct Requirements Determination, as required, and carry out purchases of items commercially and via FMS ensuring compliance with all the relevant purchasing policies and processes.Ensure all demand inputs and triggers are appropriately considered and weighted in the demand management process.Support the development of annual Repair of Repairables, Procurement of New Repairables and Breakdown Spares budgets using corporate forecasting and budgeting tools.Monitor, co-ordinate and update EDD(s) as required to ensure systems are updated to capture relevant lead time and financial data, ensuring funding targets are met as per Product Schedules.Assist with the development of value for money strategies using expert knowledge of both the domestic and international supplier environment.Assist group management with the achievement of agreed productivity targets for Stores Item or Repairable Item Management.Work effectively within a multi-skilled team and assist the Stock Item or Repairable Item Coordinator with continuous improvement measures and activities.Undertake all activities connected with the facilitation of staff development and training, succession planning and performance management.Required Skills and ExperienceEssential Experience :
At least 4 years' experience in a logistics environment.Working knowledge of Defence logistics, maintenance and financial policies, procedures and organisation.Skills and Attributes :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly proficient with the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel.Solid understanding of Defence Resource Management.Solid knowledge of Defence support and logistics policies and procedures.Solid knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principals and Integrated Logistics Support.Ability to learn RD skills utilising the AIMS RD product.Ability to work unsupervised and manage a programme of work.Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against internal and or external stakeholder requirements.Ability to work in a team environment.Strong attention to detail.Qualifications :
Logistics professional qualification to a minimum of Certificate 3 level or equivalent levels of experienceSecurity clearance :
