The Advisor, Community Engagement, focuses on advocating for positive outcomes through the initiation, development and delivery of engagement strategies for capital projects and strategic initiatives. This includes effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, external agencies, program partners, contractors, and the wider community as part of a high-performing Community Engagement team.
ResponsibilitiesInitiate, develop and implement effective communications and engagement strategies, tools and activities to support the delivery of GWW's capital works program.Identify opportunities to raise GWW's profile and build relationships with our communities, manage risks to GWW's reputation, respond to community inquiries, support emergency responses.Create clear and accessible public information, coordinate various communications materials, and manage logistics for diverse engagement activities and events.Champion the inclusion of customer and community perspectives in decision-making, build and manage stakeholder relationships for GWW infrastructure projects, ensure timely support, and facilitate effective communication to improve satisfaction and coordination.Assist project teams in managing delivery partners and contractors to meet community engagement expectations, coordinate the review of communication materials, develop risk minimisation strategies, and serve as the primary contact for delivery partners within the Reliability program.Collaborate with your leader to create a performance plan, foster an open team culture, work independently to enhance processes, uphold company values, and contribute to achieving EBA KPIs within the Partnerships, Engagement & Communications team.Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualification in communications, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent experience required.IAP2 certification or similar accreditation.Experience developing and delivering community and stakeholder engagement programs that build community capacity and social licence to operate, in accordance with IAP2 Core Values.Excellent verbal and written skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to elevate GWW's relationships and reputation in our communities as well as identify and managing project and organisational risks.See yourself thriveOur vision for GWW is Thriving People and Country.
