We are seeking Law and Policy Specialists to join our Law Design and Practice Group. Roles may be offered in any of the following areas.
In our Tax Counsel Network , you will play an important role in technical leadership. You’ll have extensive understanding of the legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks that underpin contemporary tax administration.
You will lead and co-ordinate technically complex or sensitive law interpretation work programs or projects, providing high-level advice to executives and other government agencies.
You will be an expert in taxation and superannuation laws and policies, making timely decisions based on sound judgement while taking acceptable risks. You’ll also lead, manage and mentor small teams of junior tax specialists.
In our Policy, Analysis and Legislation area, you will lead the development, analysis and implementation of proposed policy and legislation initatives. With a future-focused approach, you’ll deliver complex, technical, or sensitive projects and provide high-level policy advice to shape strategic or operational outcomes across tax, superannuation, registries, and legislative reforms.
You will collaborate with the ATO executives, Treasury and other agencies, providing high-level advice to Government Ministers and their staff. You’ll lead dynamic teams, building capability through coaching and mentoring and empowering others to realise their potential.
In our Objections and Review area, you will lead teams and manage a highly complex set of resources to achieve key strategic goals, deliver quality outcomes and deliver results. Your leadership will foster ongoing capability development through coaching and mentoring, performance feedback, conflict resolution and encouraging career development.
You will lead technical excellence by guiding others to provide high quality advice. You’ll plan, co-ordinate and deliver complex, technical or sensitive projects that influence strategic or operational outcomes for the agency.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Gosford, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Perth, Sydney CBD or Upper Mount Gravatt . A merit pool may be formed and used to fill future similar vacancies in these locations and other locations within the same metropolitan area.
