Senior Engineer - Platform Engineering

What You Will Do

Senior Engineer defines the complex automation tasks and cloud architecture components for a given solution. Your role is to maximize velocity for platform and environment enablement for developers through leveraging a DevOps mindset and focus.

Specifically, You Will

Advocate for DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and cultural practices within Slalom and our clients.
Assist with estimating work efforts and story pointing required for each phase of an agile project.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, less experienced engineers, and client personnel.
Identify, qualify, and raise technical risks and issues.
Help grow our culture of learning by taking part in and coordinating opportunities such as presenting at technical conferences, community groups, writing blog articles, and contributing to partner-coordinated workshops

What You Will Bring

Bring strong experience in software engineering and DevOps, particularly in production environments using AWS

Design and implement end-to-end CI / CD pipelines

Apply expertise in configuration management and infrastructure as code, using tools such as :

Chef, Puppet, Ansible

Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM

Contribute to security-focused engineering practices, including :

Identity and access management

Firewall configuration

Fundamental cloud security principles

Collaborate across cross-functional and technical teams to deliver Agile-based projects

Demonstrate a growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies quickly

Use acquired knowledge to solve practical business problems for customers

Communicate effectively with clients at a business level

Translate customer needs into technical solutions to help maximize team velocity
