About The Opportunity
Are you passionate about supporting carers and enhancing their role within the health system? We are seeking a Carers Program Officer (Health Education Officer Graduate) to play a vital role in implementing activities and projects that advocate for the needs of carers across the District.
In this position, you will work closely with the Carers Program Coordinator and key partners, promoting a more inclusive and supportive environment for carer s within SWSLHD facilities and services. You will help drive meaningful change, ensuring carers receive the recognition, support, and inclusion they deserve in healthcare settings.

What You'll Be Doing
The Carers Program Officer is responsible for implementing a range of projects and activities as well as advocating for carers in South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) to ensure they are recognised, supported, and included. This involves strengthening collaboration and partnerships with health staff, consumers, and the community, to promote inclusive and person-centred health services.
Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.
With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.
