About The Role

DNV Australia is seeking a Maritime Surveyor to join our Perth team on a full time basis, supporting class services to shipyards, government, vessel owners and operators and other maritime industry suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Survey of vessels during newbuilding stage with particular focus on governmental vessels (Defence and Border Force related).
Survey of vessels in operation with particular focus on governmental vessels (Defence and Border Force related).
Certification of materials and components manufactured by local Perth industry.

About You

Position Qualifications / Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from a recognized institute or Class-I Marine Engineer. certificate of competency or equivalent.

Ideally a minimum 5 years of experience in the maritime and classification industry with both survey and audit experience.

Flexibility in travelling and solid willingness to take unscheduled job calls when required.

Strong customer service orientation and proven record of managing maritime clients.

Good understanding of class and statutory requirements.

Proven ability to effectively manage digitalization and new business opportunities.

Team player but able to work independently on surveys.

Physical abilities necessary to perform regular classification functions, including voyage surveys, sea trials and attendance in the anchorage etc.

Ability to obtain security clearances necessary to work on Australian Defence assets.

Experience in surveying of aluminium, steel and composite newbuilds will be an advantage but not essential.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
