- Client Representative
- you will act as the primary liaison between the client and offshore contractors, ensuring that all operations are executed in line with project specifications, safety standards, and contractual requirements. You will be embedded within offshore campaigns to safeguard client interests, monitor technical performance, and ensure transparent communication between all stakeholders.
Success in this role means proactively managing project execution, maintaining clear records of progress and issues, and ensuring delivery meets both quality and regulatory expectations. Your input will directly influence project efficiency, risk mitigation, and stakeholder confidence.
- Responsibilities
- Represent the client's interests offshore across survey, construction, or inspection campaigns
- Ensure compliance with project scope, contract obligations, HSE standards, and data quality
- Review and approve daily progress reports, records of events, and deliverables
- Monitor offshore operations including vessel positioning, MBES, SBP, ROV, or cable installation activities
- Coordinate with vessel crews, survey teams, and onshore management to address issues in real-time
- Maintain accurate daily logs and communicate progress and concerns to onshore stakeholders
- Attend toolbox talks and promote safe working practices on board
- Verify adherence to technical specifications, survey procedures, and operational plans
- Facilitate pre-mobilization meetings and post-mission debriefs as required
- Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Hydrographic Surveying, Marine Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of offshore experience in hydrographic, geophysical, or subsea construction surveys
- Prior experience as a Surveyor, Party Chief, or Client Representative highly regarded
- Excellent understanding of MBES, positioning systems, GNSS, and survey data QC
- Strong knowledge of offshore HSE practices and permit-to-work systems
- Effective communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Valid offshore certifications including BOSIET / FOET, Medical, and GWO (if required)
- IMCA, ACSM, or GCA certifications preferred
