The School of Engineering is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the role of Technical Officer.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role provides technical support to the School's teaching and research programs and will help in organising, moving and setting up equipment for practical classes being undertaken by Engineering disciplines, particularly in the area of Mechanical Engineering.
To be successful you need to be willing and capable to move materials and equipment as required and use your hands-on knowledge to set up and maintain machinery, other equipment and materials that will be used in laboratories and other practical classes. You need to have an interest in Engineering and previous exposure to the sorts of equipment used in a laboratory and workshop would be an advantage.
You need to be well organised and be able to prepare, organise and distribute whatever is needed in a timely manner to make sure that laboratories and workshops have the right technical equipment and support when they need them. You also will need to be capable of keeping manuals updated and maintaining accurate records of loan equipment as well as laboratory requirements for each unit to assist academic and technical staff with experimental designs and equipment so that laboratories and other classes can be performed efficiently and effectively.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $81,614 to $90,691pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
