    Job Description

    Location : Whyalla, South Australia.

    Status : Full-Time Contract to 30 June 2027 working 38 hours per week

    Annual Salary : from $88,090 to $94,788 per annum

    About the Position

    The Case Manager plays a vital role in the Intensive Family Services program which supports families with complex needs to safely move away from the child protection system. The role entails working closely with families and partners to enhance child and family safety.

    As a Case Manager, your responsibilities will include :

    Developing and maintaining case plans in line with program requirements.

    Providing practical support and education to families, ensuring a focus on improving outcomes.

    Building and maintaining partnerships with relevant organizations and ensuring culturally appropriate engagement.

    Advocating for clients to access culturally appropriate support services.

    Administering accurate records and reports as per funding requirements.

    About You

    To be successful in this role you will have :

    A Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification;

    Experience in providing case management, assessment and referrals;

    Experience in working with and supporting families at risk;

    Practical application of strengths-based family intervention approaches;

    Understanding and knowledge around trauma responsive practices;

    Knowledge of the impacts of child abuse and neglect;

    Knowledge and understanding of basic child development principles, child care principles and family dynamics;

    Highly effective negotiation and communication skills in managing challenging and confronting situations and behaviours;

    Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality file management, which includes collating, maintaining and reporting on accurate data and information;

    Experience in working in a highly confidential manner;

    High level of communication skills (listening, verbal and written);

    Demonstrated ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative;

    Demonstrated ability to function as a cooperative member of a team to achieve team objectives

    High level of ability in using Information Technology and Microsoft Office programs.

    Requirements of the role :

    Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check

    Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check)

    Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional License)
