As a Therapeutic Youth Worker you'll be a key support for children & young people aged 12 to 17 years who've experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. Some of the children and young people we care for may also have a disability or complex medical needs requiring specialised support, including personal care.
You will be part of a dedicated to team working to ensuring a safe, homelike environment where these young people can thrive, supporting them to learn independent life skills, develop problem solving skills and to build appropriate and positive relationships with others.
Our residential homes operate 24 / 7, therefore it is
- essential
- that successful applicants are able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts. We will not be able to consider applicants who cannot fulfil this requirement.
- Role requirements
- Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) OR hold relevant experience and complete Diploma qualification offered by LWB. (Please note : a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
- A current driver's licence
- Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).
