  • Position Summary
  • As Portfolio Leader you own the Strategic Supplier Partner Group Environmental and Instrumentation portfolio. You will provide leadership, team development, and strategic direction to a team of Product Managers with responsibility for driving portfolio strategy to effectively optimize the Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition and market position. You have the overall vision and understanding of the product lines within this portfolio and will drive strategies & initiatives to ensure that the products meet the customer needs and enable growth. By dealing directly with customers, opinion leaders, divisional contacts and product teams, in alignment with senior leadership, you will define and deliver commercial strategies.

    This role will be office-based at our Scoresby, Australia site. Regional and international travel will be required, up to 50% per annum, including overnight stays.

    • Key Responsibilities
    • Portfolio Strategy

    • Work across the organization and with LSLPG / AIG / GSG / SDG Divisional / Technical Service leadership in developing and implementing strategies that lead to increased customer value creation and market share gain in ANZ.
    • Develop effective portfolio / business strategy to achieve annual AOP targets through executable plans designed to drive lead generation, sales revenue and improve market share.
    • To work effectively with sales channels to implement product strategies and achieve product objectives including launching new products, promotions and campaigns and training.
    • Effective management of inventory requirements
    • Work with Marketing Specialists, Digital teams and Product Management colleagues to develop and implement effective brand and marketing campaigns for demand generation, pipeline development and sales conversion.
    • Close liaison with the sales, marketing, QARA, finance, procurement, purchasing and technical service teams to ensure portfolio strategies are understood for effective execution.
    • Engage with key customers and the market to remain current in terms of trends, opportunities and competition.
    • Commercial Execution

    • Build all forecasting and financial pulse check calls and meetings effectively, including inventory management. Target forecast accuracy of + / -5%.
    • Ensure strategic alignment and clear partnership with activation and execution function (Marketing / Digital).
    • Actively participates in the preparation and presentation of the ANZ and Group cross functional sales meetings, leadership meetings, Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) quarterly business reviews (QBR), the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic planning (STRAP).
    • Team Development

    • Build a successful commercial team through strong coaching and leadership. Ensure timely recognition and reward for top performers and deploy performance management actions when needed.
    • Ensure the team meets established goal tree items in the areas of revenue growth, profitability, expense control, free cash flow, process optimization, productivity, employee development, and customer satisfaction, improving results through a continuous improvement culture.
    • Drive collaboration with other commercial and functional teams in a matrix structure to support growth for the SSPG business.

    • Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
    • Qualifications
    • MBA preferred.
    • Previous experience

    • Validated business growth and delivery of P&L targets through the implementation of portfolio strategy and execution of tactical actions to achieve required objectives
    • Team management experience, with track record in building, developing and coaching an impactful team to deliver against objectives
    • Experience working in a global and matrix organisation with a decentralised model (preferred)
    • Experience acquired across several companies (preferred)
