About the Role

You will be key in coordinating and delivering highquality inclusive programs within the Centre. You will develope expert knowledge of the Our Place Framework and relevant statebased curriculums and child development. This role will lead the rooms education program as well as the policies and practice to exceed the National Quality Standard.

You will also contribute to the professional identity of the Centre raising the quality of the education program and practice. Working closely with the Early Learning Centre Manager and the Our Place Educational Leader you will establish authentic and positive relationships with children and families to ensure positive outcomes for all children.

You will mentor and supervise the services Coeducators to deepen their understanding of curriculum and pedagogy and to embed a culture of ongoing reflective practice.

This is a Perm Part Time role MonFri with additional hours available during peak times.

About You

  • Passion for quality teaching and learning and the ability to translate this into a challenging learning environment with strong student engagement and excellent outcomes.
  • The ability to create a safe secure learning environment in which trust is fostered individual differences are respected and valued and students are encouraged to be risktakers and selfdirected learners.
  • Capacity for reflection and selfdirected learning with a commitment to continuously improve teaching practices.
  • Ability to apply creative and innovative practices and processes in education and digital platform tools to support student learning.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating staffing roster and staff issues with guidance from Centre Manager.
  • Strong team orientation with the willingness to contribute and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and parents and partnerships within the wider community.
  • High standards of personal integrity and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to cover additional hours when required covering leave requirements.
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent) or working toward / obtained Bachelor Early Childhood Education.
  • Current Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting certificate.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management Training.
  • Accredited Child Protection Training.
  • Completion of an approved child protection training course in compliance with Section 162A of the National Law effective 1 April 2025.
  • Superseded courses still accepted during the transitional period.
  • Hold or ability to obtain Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • About Ourplace

    The purpose of our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) program is to provide a safe and enjoyable place for children to be when they need to be cared for outside of the Colleges core hours of operation.

    The service is twofold in that it aims to serve children in our community by providing a safe place where children can opt to work rest or play in which the values align completely with Sheldon College. Secondly the service is for the parents who require care for their children in a context that is a continuation of the childrens day and one that is within the College grounds.

    The three services offered at Our Place OSHC for students in Preparatory onwards from 6 : 30am to 6 : 15pm are :

  • Before College Care
  • After College Care
  • Vacation Care (including Student Free Day Care)
  • During Vacation Care periods we offer a wide variety of exciting and educational activities from 6 : 30am to 6 : 15pm daily such as arts crafts cooking indoor and outdoor play.
