12 month non-ongoing position

  • The Opportunity

You will be joining a busy, collegiate campaign team, surrounded by communication professionals who are passionate about what they do. After years of delivering successful and recognisable marketing campaigns to the Australian public, the Department is looking for several new APS5 and APS6's to join their busy communications branch.

As a campaign officer you will be responsible for engaging with creative agencies and consultancies, conducting research and assisting with procurement and budgets.

The topics are varied and spread across the entire health care realm. Your audiences will include multicultural, disability, and first nations groups.

  • Key duties will include
  • Project manage the delivery of government campaigns whilst adhering to all protocols and internal government process
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister's office
  • Manage communication with the relevant Minister and Defence Senior Executives, including preparing written briefs.
  • Develop and update new content for external website
  • Lead the development of promotional materials including digital media content
  • Manage process of market research conducted by consultants in relation to communications activities.
  • Skills and Experience required

    • Previous experience in a campaign team or environment is advantageous however not essential. Previous Government (local, state or federal) experience in a project or communications team is essential.

    To be considered at the APS5 level, marketing or campaign experience is not required but a desire to expand in to this space, along with experience in a communications related role, is vital.
