All about the role
We are seeking an experienced cardiac sonographer for a locum position for the following periods :
2nd June to 13th June 2025 – 2 weeks
2 weeks between 1st September and 20th September 2025
30 October 2024 – 30 January 2026
The role is based at a modern health facility in a coastal community and involves a full clinic schedule from Monday to Friday, seeing 8-10 patients daily, including some inpatients. You’ll be supported by a dedicated nursing team and will work alongside visiting cardiologists, overseen by the cardiologist lead for the region ensuring high-quality care for the local community, where continuity of service is highly valued.
The successful candidate will primarily work with adult patients, although there may be occasional paediatric scans. Typical diagnostic tests include echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, stress echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. Remote work opportunities may arise, requiring travel with the cardiologist to locations such as Kununurra, Halls Creek, Derby, and Fitzroy Crossing, although the primary focus will be on clinic-based services.
If you have at least 5 years of experience in cardiac sonography, particularly in remote indigenous community settings, and are dedicated to serving diverse populations, we encourage you to apply.
