Although no day is the same in this role, there are some key functions you'll be doing to support our clients to live independent and fulfilling lives. Some of these duties include :
- Transferring in and out of bed or wheelchairs. Using hoists when required
- Showering, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
- Personal grooming
- Toileting, bladder and bowel management - including changing catheter bags and supporting bowel care
- Checking for pressure areas and basic wound care
- Self-medication
- Meal preparation and eating including PEG feeding
- Domestic support such as general household cleaning and laundry
- About You
We are looking to employ individuals who are passionate about caring for and supporting people to live independently in their own homes. You will be someone who has an empathetic nature, positive attitude and can communicate honestly and effectively with clients. You treat others with dignity, respect and without judgement and can work independently.
Experience is not required for this role, as we provide extensive training through our Registered Nurses & Key Support Workers.
You must hold :
Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicleA smartphone deviceA current NDIS Workers Screening Card (Yellow Card) and / or a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or willingness to obtain.Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module, or willingness to complete.Flexibility to work a fixed fortnightly roster with varying shift times.Job TypeCasualPay : $24.42 - $36.00 per hour
