An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Practitioner within the Child & Youth Health Mental Service, as a multidisciplinary team member, you will deliver discipline specific (Social Work or Occupational Therapy or Psychology) clinical services to stakeholders / customers of Queensland Health, in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service provides a free service to children and young people aged 0-18 who have severe and complex mental health problems and who live in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service District.

Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Demonstrate competent knowledge, expertise and skill in the provision of Social Work or Occupational Therapy or Psychology services commensurate with level of experience in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, existing evidence-based practice and established clinical protocols. For complex or novel cases, you will seek direction from clinical seniors as appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and patient records in line with Departmental, Unit and Health Service procedures, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate and timely information systems (statistics collection, quality data). Ensure that time spent across clinical and non-clinical work is in keeping with assigned requirements.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient / client care, including the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work environment.

Remuneration value up to $132,567 p.a., comprising salary between $79,051 - $116,189 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note : only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
