Position OverviewApplications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners eligible for registration in New South Wales for the above position within the Department of Gastroenterology at Wyong and Gosford Hospitals, Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).
This is a temporary Staff Specialist position (0.5FTE) covering the period from 4 August 2025 to 9 November 2025.
Applicants should be Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or hold other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Location and CommunityCentral Coast comprises Gosford and Wyong, located between Sydney and Newcastle, with a projected population growth from approximately 300,000 to 450,000 by 2030.
The district maintains strong links with Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.
Obligations and ConditionsThis position involves responsibilities at both Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

Minimum RequirementsMedical Practitioner registered or eligible for registration in Australia, including an unrestricted 19AB exempted provider number.
Recognized specialist qualifications, such as Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent.
Relevant experience in practicing as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Gastroenterology.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in supervising and training junior medical staff, including trainees.
Interest in quality improvement methodologies.
