- Principal Hydrologist
- to join our team.
- The Role
- Reporting to the Groundwater Manager
- the purpose of this position is to develop and implement company processes for identifying, modelling, monitoring and managing impacts to surface hydrological processes and soil resources arising from Arrow's operations to ensure Arrow meets its statutory obligations and stakeholder commitments.
This is a Brisbane based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.
- In addition you will
- Develop and implement procedures and systems to comply in accordance with Environmental Authorities, the Water Act, the Regional Planning Interest Act.
- Deliver Arrow's program of modelling, monitoring and management of CSG induced subsidence to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, commitments and Arrow's systems / processes.
- Contribute technical expertise to geomorphological, hydrological and hydraulic related studies including reviewing and refining project plans, data analysis and reports.
- Develop and manage an interdisciplinary team of geomatics, agronomy, engineering and remote sensing specialists and contractors.
- Demonstrate Arrow's compliance with statutory obligations and stakeholder commitments relating to CSG induced subsidence by supporting and taking part in engagements with stakeholders and regulators.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow's values, code of conduct, safety and the environment.
- Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders.

- To be considered for this role, you will ideally have
- Proven extensive experience in environmental or agronomic hydrology and hydraulics.
- Conducting geomorphological, hydrologic and hydraulic assessment and developing fit for purpose monitoring and management objectives.
- Understanding of water and environmental legislation to translate legal requirements into sound strategy, processes and standard operating procedures.
- Undertaking and documenting risk assessment.
- Success in managing contractor and key external stakeholder relations.
- OH&S practices applicable to operational field work.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills at strategic and tactical levels.
