Research Officer / Media Adviser

• Responsibilities
• Parliamentary : research and provide strategic advice on a range of parliamentary and portfolio issues; draft speeches, briefing papers and complex correspondence; policy development
• Media support : liaise with media, monitor and analyse key issues and emerging trends across a range of media platforms; provide research, media advice and releases
• Stakeholder engagement : develop effective relationships and consult with a wide range of stakeholders across government, private sector, and diverse community organisations across a range of portfolio matters
• Work collaboratively within an inclusive team environment to meet the strategic objectives of the parliamentary office.
• Highly regarded skills and experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Journalistic, media and public relations experience
• Stakeholder engagement experience and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to handle multiple tasks, determine appropriate priorities and respond quickly and efficiently
• High level understanding of confidentiality and handling sensitive documents
