  • Aims to minimise hospital presentations for young people in distress by providing a mental health service that can overcome barriers to support through the program's outreach capacity and operating hours across the weekend.
  • The Role
  • Centacare is excited to offer a fixed-term, part-time opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner within our impactful SPRING program. In this role, you will provide crucial support to young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing suicidal distress, self-harming behaviours, or other mental health challenges.

    This meaningful part time position involves working outside of traditional hours, including weekends, with a rotating roster across Thursday to Monday, 11 : 00 AM to 8 : 00 PM.     • What you need to bring
    • Essential
    • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or related field.
    • It is essential to be able to work out of hours and on weekends. Rotating Roster Thursday
    • Monday 11am
    • Proven experience working alongside vulnerable youth and their networks facing barriers to support
    • Proven experience delivering a service compassionately to people experiencing distress
    • Proven experience working effectively in collaboration with stakeholders
    • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
    • Valid Driver's Licence
    • Desirable
    • Experience working in crisis spaces
    • Experience working with families with complex needs
    • Understanding of the referral pathways and how to navigate systems delivering services for mental health and broader social issues
