As a Residential Underwriter, you’ll play a key role in assessing home loan applications, making sound credit decisions, and delivering outstanding service to our internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess home loan applications to ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory standards.
  • Exercise delegated lending authority with sound judgment.
  • Prioritise daily tasks and manage phone queues to meet service standards.
  • Ensure application files are complete and compliant pre-settlement.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, advisers, and internal teams.
  • Identify and escalate risk issues as needed.
  • Embrace feedback and continuously improve through learning and collaboration.
  • Contribute to a culture of compliance, inclusion, and innovation.

About you

  • Experience in residential lending or mortgage underwriting
  • Strong understanding of NCCP, Privacy Act, and relevant state legislation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, resourceful, and accountable mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to delivering great customer outcomes
