  • The Role
  • The Skills and Training Group is responsible for administering programs and policies on behalf of the Australian Government to help people develop the skills they need to gain employment and build their careers. We also work with stakeholders to build strong sustainable skills and training systems to allow Australians to skill and reskill in response to changing technology and workforce needs.

    We are seeking motivated and high performing individuals to fill various costing positions (multiple levels from APS 4 to APS 6) in the following divisions in the Skills and Training Group.

  • Apprenticeships and Foundation Skills Division
  • Careers and International Skills Division
  • Industry Engagement and Quality Division
  • Strategic Policy and Projects Division
  • VET Data, Loans and Compliance Division
  • National Skills Agreement Taskforce
  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • We are seeking motivated and high performing individuals to support development of new policy proposals and implementation of existing programs through expenditure forecasting and policy analysis.

    Responsibilities include :

  • Facilitate advice on the development and delivery of costings, costing justifications and new policy proposals
  • Provide effective briefing and policy advice on budget matters, fiscal policy, and whole-of-government policy priorities
  • Facilitate the development and costing of proposals, including providing advice and support to business areas on the development of NPPs, costings and detailed costing justifications
  • Leading responses to ad hoc queries from the ministers' offices, central agencies and portfolio entities
  • Working closely with the Director to develop costing advice, briefing materials and attending meetings with the Senior Executives.
