We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Rail and Transport Operations & Maintenance team based in Perth.
As Commercial Manager you will develop commercial strategies, undertake high level contract, pricing and tender reviews and provide authoritative advice to senior management on matters relating to commercial opportunities and risks associated with transport and infrastructure operations and maintenance projects to ensure the effective governance and financial success of the business unit.
- Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to;
- Develop the commercial strategy and oversee the effective implementation of required commercial outcomes on tenders and projects
- Support the Rail Operations Manager and Project in financial performance analysis
- Project financial reviews / investigations
- Overhead & tender cost control.
- Lead the review and approval of contractual documentation associated with major tenders in accordance with the John Holland governance framework
- Negotiate and conclude contract terms to achieve an effective and appropriate risk allocation with clients, subcontractors and with consortium / joint-venture partners
- Review and oversee the pricing development and assumptions related to critical cost inputs for tenders and projects
- Manage the commercial and performance risk evaluation, quantification and strategy for tenders and projects
- Advise key internal stakeholders on material commercial matters on major tenders and lead the John Holland commercial governance and risk assurance process
- Develop appropriate plans and programs to ensure the business' procedures are aligned to their commercial policies
- Advise senior management on legislative changes that are likely to impact commercial policies or existing contractual arrangements
- Provide regular management reports to senior management against key measures and indicators
- Provide support to project teams for the management and negotiation of major claims and disputes with subcontractors and Clients.
- To be successful in this key role, you must have
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated disciplines
- 5 years' + experience in commercial, financial and contract administration gained on transport, outsourced services and / or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in leading commercial solution development for large projects and tenders
