Senior Associate - Insurance Litigation

Role : Kennedys is looking for a highly motivated Senior Associate join our busy Insurance practice in Sydney.

The successful candidate will work directly with our esteemed Insurance Partner, Penny Taylor, and wider team of senior lawyers.Penny has over 15 years' experience in insurance law and dispute resolution and specialises in financial lines insurance, in particular professional indemnity, Directors & Officers and management liability insurance.The role will include the day-to-day handling and management of complex coverage disputes, as well as offering clear written advice, for our construction, engineering and financial services clients.Team : The Insurance team in Sydney have extensive experience across multiple lines of insurance work, with a particular depth of expertise in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' (D&O), medical malpractice, public and product liability, property and construction, energy, cyber, marine, transport and employment.Clients : General insurers and reinsurersLloyds syndicatesGlobal compositesSelf-insured PLCsCases : High value coverage disputes for financial institutionsDirectors and Officers insuranceHigh value professional liability claimsSubrogated recoveries on behalf of insurersWho we are looking for : 6 + years' relevant defendant experience from a reputable private practice insurance or construction teamStrong Australian litigation experience and court knowledgeAbility to run with matters autonomously with limited supervisionPossess excellent communication skills, both written and verbalDesire to manage & mentor more junior lawyers in the team with file management / progressionMethodical and organised approach to file managementAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with excellent organisation skills and attention to detailHigh level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics.Please let us know if you require any additional support or adjustments to be made in order to submit your application to Kennedys.
