Muscle Nerds Consulting Pty Ltd is looking for a multidisciplinary sports and performance trainer to work out of their gym, Institute of Physical Culture (IOPC Gym) to help support the growing clientele competing in local, national, and global sports competitions.
Due to the variety of sports we have clients competing in, depth of knowledge across energy systems and biomechanics is imperative, although some guidance and mentoring will be provided. The current demographic of athletes includes long-distance runners, powerlifters, triathletes, cricket players, soccer players, and AFL players, but expansion upon sports diversity over 2025 is the goal. Our athlete demographic includes quadriplegics and adolescents, so a blue card is required, and experience working with disabilities is preferred.
When needed, Trainers will be expected to attend clients' competitions which means national travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities :
Write customised, effective, and efficient macro, micro, and meso training cycles in line with the specific sports seasons and individual requirements of the athletes.
Regularly assess and adjust athletes training based on their progress, abilities, and requirements. Collect and analyse objective data such as speed, agility, force output and velocity, strength and strength ratios, structural and functional balance, and where applicable, body composition metrics.
Where applicable, work alongside the athlete's team coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists and / or any other health care providers to ensure cohesive planning and peaking of performance for game days and competitions.
Supervise and actively coach practice sessions ensuring athletes training and efforts align with their competitive goals and skill development and abilities.
Foster an environment that creates and emphasizes resilience, commitment, personal growth, and positivity.
Proactively recruit athletes and new clients, expanding the athletic demographic, while collaborating with other staff.
Engage with athletes to strengthen relationships and drive organisational growth.
Arrange and manage entries into various competitions, ensuring each athlete meets, and is aware of, eligibility criteria.
Liaise with relevant sporting bodies to stay updated on rules and regulations, making adjustments to training plans and sessions as needed to maintain compliance and increase the athletes chance of success.
Where required, officiate at sporting events, ensuring rules are enforced and that fair play is upheld.
Collaborate with other officials to interpret and enforce rules accurately and consistently across events.
Maintain and organise a diary of training sessions, competitions, and events coordinating closely with athletes to optimise scheduling and performance optimisation.
Ensure the smooth operation of sporting activities, overseeing athlete preparedness and event logistics.
Pay : $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
