Management Accountant | 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a Management Accountant for a six-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension or a permanent role.

This is a key role within the finance team, where you will work closely with various departments to provide management accounting services, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data to support high-quality management reporting and analysis.

Your initial focus will be on mapping out the organisation's current financial processes, identifying internal control risks, and optimising information flow. You will play a critical role in streamlining and enhancing existing workflows to develop a best-practice process framework that improves efficiency, mitigates risk, and supports informed decision-making.

Responsibilities : Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, highlighting key metrics and trends.Perform variance analysis to compare actual results with budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.Conduct regular cost analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives.Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger by reviewing and reconciling accounts regularly.Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring they are well-documented and properly approved.Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.Utilise financial software and tools to optimise and streamline accounting operations.Assist in preparing audit schedules and support both internal and external audit processes.Criteria : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or CommerceExperience in TM1 highly desirableProcess mapping experience requiredExhibits strong leadership and interpersonal skillsPossesses exceptional communication skills, both written and verbalProven experience in driving process improvements and implementing controls frameworksNote : Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered at this time.Hybrid work environmentIf you are interested in this opportunity, please apply to the role directly with your resume and cover letter.
