Emergency Medicine Specialist - FACEM

Position

Looking for a challenge in emergency medicine? This Emergency Department sees an average of 130 patients per 24 hour period and handles a wide range of clinical presentations, including critically unwell and trauma cases as a referral hospital for the region. We are seeking applications from both newly qualified and seasoned Emergency Medicine Physicians.

Hospital

The largest in this Health Service, boasting 331 beds and providing specialist services. The regional adult and paediatric mix Emergency Department handles an annual attendance of 50,000 presentations, with 25% of those being paediatric. It sees a wide range of complex multi-speciality cases and is led by 9.5 FTE Fellowship of Australasian College Emergency Medicine (FACEMs), 4.0 FTE Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRMs), and 1.0 FTE Senior Medical Officer (SMO). Location

The large regional city enjoys 300 days of sunshine per year and offers a quality lifestyle with beautiful beaches and a number of popular outdoor attractions including the Riverbank Parklands, the coastal strip, and large neighboring islands. The city boasts an impressive selection of private and public schools and is full of cultural opportunities. It is also situated near national parks and sprawling landscapes, well-known for their scenic spots to dine with a view.

Requirements

We require specialist registration with AHPRA as a FACEM, with ACEM Trainees who are 6 months from attaining fellowship also welcome to apply. We also invite applications from International Medical Graduates deemed substantially Comparable with ACEM, as well as doctors from NZ, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa, Hong Kong who have been specialists for at least 1-2 years.
